I’m Joni, the baker behind Sunrise Sourdough. My journey began with a simple curiosity about traditional bread-making and grew into a deep respect for the slow, intentional process that sourdough requires. With over 20 years of experience working with sourdough and naturally fermented doughs, I’ve learned that great bread doesn’t come from shortcuts — it comes from time, attention, and high-quality ingredients.

Each loaf is made using a wild sourdough starter, flour, water, and salt — no commercial yeast, preservatives, or unnecessary additives. The long fermentation process not only develops flavor, but also helps create bread that many people find easier to digest than conventional loaves.

Sunrise Sourdough LLC is a small, local micro-bakery serving the Sunrise Beach, Laurie, Gravois Mills, Camdenton, Linn Creek, and Lake of the Ozarks area communities. I bake in limited quantities to maintain consistency and quality, offering classic sourdough loaves along with seasonal and specialty flavors throughout the year.
